Jesse Jane

Jim Mosaic Man Power called me this morning in excruciating pain, he had fallen in his newest temporary digs (housing) and broke his hand and possibly his shoulder. The hand he broke is the hand he uses to lean on his cane so this is extra bad. He needs the cane because his hip is shot and he needs a new hip. He does not want to be separated from Jesse Jane which is one reason he has put off surgery. I also know he wants teeth and he found a dental office near his newest temporary home. I am an artist and I understand the artist emotional make up. It is not easy being Jim. I understand. The fact that he is a Viet Nam Vet, it was good Jim insisted I get him a car and get him over to the VA hospital. Sad stuff. I am not a family member, just a New Yorker, a Villager these past 25 years. I had to drop everything and jump in a taxi to get to Bushwick, Brooklyn and pick up Jesse Jane. I helped Jim and the ambulance workers with information and getting Jesse out of the way and than I got in a car and called Clayton Patterson. He and Elsa agreed to take her. The ambulance workers to him to Wyckoff hospital and Jim was very unhappy there and insisted on getting over to the VA hospital. That took way too long because Jim had used up his cel phone minutes and gave me the wrong street entrance.

I stopped by Clayton's with Jesse and by the way the block below where he and Elsa live there was a scaffolding collapse for those of you following my point about too many construction and infrastructure problems.

I decided to take Jesse Jane (not the porn star) to Tompkins Square Park dog run and she was happy to be there although she was and is upset to not be with Jim.

I got her food and dropped her off at a pet store to have her bathed and groomed. Than back to the dog run but in between was high drama and yelling as Jim ate up all his cel phone minutes. He had given me the wrong street for the car service to pick him up and take him to the VA. It was tragic -- he has no wheel chair, he was freezing from cold and from shock and the taxi was at the wrong entrance. Jim kept calling from a landline and than I realized I could conference call him with the taxi service -- 45 minutes of hell and Jim was at the end of his rope.

I got a call from another patient at the VA reminding me to go to T mobile and add minutes to Jim's cel phone. I added 50 dollars cringing that he would use those minutes to yell at me and Clayton.

He even asked me to take Jesse back to his empty apt. I said no. I fed her, got her bathed and a new harness so she can't slip out of the big yukky collar Jim has on her.


I don't know that I would have done if Clayton had not picked up the phone and really come through. Clayton was a hero to me in that moment and he and Elsa saved the day although when it comes to Jim they have done so often even giving him and Jesse shelter in the past.

I was scared so I called Lorcan Otway too who has many photos of Jim and Jesse Jane on his flicker site and he comforted me too. Everyone knows Jim and Jesse and some dog owners at the dog run comforted both Jesse and me.

Jim is in surgery as I type the text portion of this youtube.

This is the difference between the Village and NYU-ville.

Say a prayer for Jim and Jesse Jane.
